Jess Sluder is a multidisciplinary artist hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up surrounded by tools and was taught from an early age how to bring his creative ideas to life through hands-on methods. After brushes at various art schools, Sluder’s artistic journey took a different path as he discovered the power of self-teaching.
In 2006, Sluder moved to Venice, California, where he currently lives with his wife and two children. Here, he found his place among an art-driven community and experienced firsthand how artistic expression can inspire far-reaching change. This experience further fueled his creative drive and reinforced his belief in the ability of art to inspire collective consciousness. The counterculture worlds of snowboarding, skateboarding, and BMX also played a transformative role in shaping Sluder’s practice.
Sluder is noted for his artworks using permanent pens, executing big ideas using minimal lines. This approach, rooted in spontaneity and embracing imperfection, lends a bold and authentic quality to his work, capturing the energy and immediacy of the creative process. With a diverse skill set spanning graphic design, web design, product design, fashion design and woodworking, Sluder is a versatile artist who thrives on pushing creative boundaries.
